Historical
Material
extracted from “An Atlas of Arran Vertebrates” by J. A. Gibson, Chairman, Clyde
Area Branch, Scottish Wildlife Trust with his permission. It was published by
the Arran Nature Centre, Brodick in 1975.
Winter Data
A
series of tables showing the species recorded through Timed Tetrad Visits,
Roving Records and BirdTrack entries, for all tetrads around each of the
settlements on Arran and in each 10x10 kilometre square on

The
attachment in this section gives a winter distribution map for each species
recorded in

note both in the data and maps: Confidential species are NOT shown. This is in
accordance with the Rare Breeding Birds Panel where details of certain species
cannot be made public.
To try to ensure that the
records forArran are as accurate and comprehensive as possible over the coming
winter, November – February, please use this information to help fill in the
“gaps” or identify any “missing species”.
