As part of the Arran Wildlife Festival which ran from 13 to 20 May there was a wildlife photography competition. This was sponsored by the “Arran Shop”. One of the rules of the competition was that the photograph had to be taken on Arran during the wildlife festival.

The entries were judged by Steve Ewart, local photographer, and were of a high standard.

Attached is the winning entry, the iconic Black Guillemot taken by Leslie Holburn. Also attached is the runner up’s photograph of a Common Sandpiper taken by Brian Hall.
