April is the month when spring migration gets underway with arrivals and departures of birds, all seeking their best breeding territories. April had some dry spells. Initially the wind was mainly from the north and this may have delayed the arrival of our earlier summer visitors. However as the temperature rose towards the end of the month so the summer visitors began to arrive.   more »
