On Friday 18 September two Knot in winter plumage were on DrumadoonPoint at high tide.

Earlier in the year on Thursday 16 July 2009 a single Knot this time in partial breeding plumage was at Drumadoon Point.

This latter report is similar to the report last year. On Friday 11 July 2008 a group of three Knot resplendent in their breeding plumage with coppery red head and coppery red underparts was seen on the beach at Drumadoon point. Later on Sunday 10 August 2008 two Knots also in red breeding plumage were reported on the beach by Shiskine Golf Course, Blackwaterfoot.

The area around Drumadoon Point seems to be a regular stopping point for Knot on their migration south from their breeding grounds in the Arctic Tundra.
